Meet Ace, Adam, Chris, Simon, Mallory, Christina, and Leah as they hit Paris. We actually reported to you in January that Ace was a castmember of the Real World and Abram a castmember of Road Rules. The following descriptions of castmembers comes from Zap2it.com.

Ace, 24, fancies himself an entrepreneur and is co-owner of three bars around Georgia Southern University -- where he's currently a sixth-year senior. He's also coming off a recent breakup.

Adam, 23 is the son of an R&B singer who was often on the road. He grew up in Beverly Hills and graduated from Stanford, and he wants to follow his dad into the music business. He hasn't yet found that special girl.

Chris, 22, has "dark good looks" and a "mysterious nature," which means he's "never lacking when it comes to women." He's also a senior at the University at Massachusetts who works as a bartender and is close to his family.

Christina, 24, majors in criminal justice at UNLV and is helping to pay for college by working as a Vegas cocktail waitress. The daughter of a Korean mother and a German father, she lived in a number of different places when her stepdad was in the military.

Leah, 22, is a Long Island princess used to getting what she wants. She likes attention, knows how to get into parties and is pursuing a fashion career after graduating from the University of Maryland.

Mallory, 19, is the virgin of the group. She gave up a soccer scholarship at Iowa State to take part in "The Real World," and she's ready to experience things outside her previously regimented life.

Simon, 18, is the youngest of the group. He grew up in a small town outside Dublin, Ireland, in a close-knit family. He met his boyfriend a few weeks before moving to Paris and will try to stay faithful.

In other news, Jae-Ha Kim of the Chicago Sun Times sat down with Kyle (Chicago) and asked him 5 Questions:

After watching his own life melodramatically played out on MTV as one of the Chicago cast members of "The Real World," Lincolnshire's Kyle Brandt is ready to tackle another kind of soap opera. The 24-year-old actor has a three-year contract, starting today, to portray Philip Kiriakis on the long-running daytime drama "Days of Our Lives." The show airs at 1 p.m. weekdays on WMAQ-Channel 5.

During a break from shooting, Brandt phoned from Los Angeles to chat with GLARE about his fledgling career.

Q. 'Fess up--You never watched a soap opera in the real world, did you?

A. Not as an adult, but I remember being hooked on them when I was like 9 years old. My sister and I had a baby-sitter who watched "Days of Our Lives" and we would watch it with her. It's like crack TV. Once you become involved, you become hooked.

Q. What's harder--classes at Princeton or memorizing lines for the show?

A. Princeton. I've always been good at memorizing lines. Even when I was a little kid, I'd hear something once and could recite it back pretty easily.

Q. On "Friends," Joey is a star on "Days of Our Lives." Ever want to share a scene with him?

A. [Laughs.] It'd be fun doing a scene with Dr. Drake Ramoray, but I don't think Matt LeBlanc is going to be making an appearance on the show. It's funny 'cause "Friends" is set in New York, so a lot of people think "Days" is shot in New York.

Q. Do your feelings get hurt when people refer to you negatively based on your "Real World" stint?

A. Not really. When you're on a show like that you're basically there for people to rip apart. I don't blame anyone for doing that. I watch those things and scream at the TV telling them how much they suck. It's fun to call them idiots. A girl on the "Days of Our Lives" cast said she couldn't stand me on "The Real World." Now we're best friends.

Q. Uh huh. Have you dated her, or any of your other cast members yet?

A. No! [Laughs] I have a girlfriend. (Note: This is Lori (Back to New York)) Besides, I've heard only bad things about inter-cast dating. I'm not going there.

This is also off the wire: Apparently, the London Observer is reporting that BMP settled in a neighborhood in New York's West Village last week at 45 Charles Street. A spokesperson for BMP was recently asked about the situation and said that it was policy not to comment on shows in production. But apparently, she acknowledged that there was a Real World related project going on. Strange, but oddly interesting.

Cara (Chicago) is still around... Instead of trying to make it into the entertainment business, Cara speaks on behalf of GOAL, which is a national campaign to deal with depression. In the tour, she admits of problems with being depressed during the show and taking antidepressants.
Those who have subscribed to MTV.com's postcard just recieved information from the Real World Gnome. The Gnome is off to Paris to find pictures of the house and will be sending pictures to those who signed up. Go to the Paris website to sign up.

Who can forget when the Real World/Road Rules Challengers jumped off the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas? Kat (London) supposedly broke the world record in bungee jumping. Well, the Road Rulers in the South Pacific will have the opportunity to do the same again when they bungee jump off Sydney, Australia's AMP Tower. Check out the AMP Tower at this site.
TV Guide has confirmed that BMP will film two more seasons of the Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Click here.

Casting deadline has been extended to May 19. Go to BMP's site for information.

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

News... Well, as the new Battle is filming this summer... Be sure to find the new Road Rules cast on this season of the Battle. Paris most likely will not be invited to partake in this summer's challenge, as the past two last challenges have not included either Chicago or Las Vegas as to even out the numbers of seasons represented on the show. So plan to see New York through Las Vegas and USA Tour 1 through South Seas on the Challenge.

Check out the following websites: RW/RR Updates and Trishelle's Fan Club.

And we reported that Matt (New Orleans) was going to be on the new Battle this summer. Well, he mentions it on one of his journals.

For those of you who want to see the EW article with Colin, here it is:

Frat Chance

Colin M. exposes ''Real World'' editing tricks -- The buff ''Hawaii'' vet just won a share of the ''Battle of the Sexes'' cash and has a new sex book. EW.com lets him rail about the show he loves to hate by Josh Wolk

THE 'REAL' DEAL It's a cold ''World,'' says Colin

After battling Puck, Ruthie, Eric Nies, and the rest of the Bunim/Murray cradle-to-the-gravers for a month on ''The Real World/Road Rules Battle of the Sexes,'' Colin Mortensen (with teammates Jamie and Mark) walked away with a share of the $150,000 grand prize and a new car. That doesn't mean the 23-year-old respects the series, to which the ''Real World: Hawaii'' vet had vowed never to return: He regularly lampoons it on his website, Colins World where he is also selling his new book, ''A New Ladies' Man,'' a frank, graphic, and humorous collection of advice for young men on ''how to get a girl interested in you, and what to do when she's interested and interested in sex.''

Considering how much you slam ''The Real World'' on your website, why did you decide to do ''Battle of the Sexes''?
They've called me for the last three and a half years [for ''Challenges''], but this time I had a vested interest and a game plan. I have my book, and if you've got some kind of buzz, it's gonna be a lot easier to sell copies. So I got in my frat-guy mode -- short hair, clean-shaven face, in good shape. If I'm gonna give them an image, I'm only gonna give them the same one they already have.

You sound very savvy about ''Real World'' editing, but it seems like very few of the other returnees learned anything from their first time.
Put it this way: If you're still on that show and you're 34, the savviness has gotta be lacking.... I don't think they're horrible guys. I think they're very involved with themselves, so they give the producers everything. They spend their time running their mouths off, and what they don't understand is the producers are gonna cut that and turn you into any character they want.

Would you ever advise your teammates to watch what they say?
People would come back from their interviews and say, ''They asked me a question about you.'' They can say whatever they want about me; that's what I signed up for. But I would go, ''Say what you like, but you're gonna look like the a--hole. It's never the person who's being talked about, it's the person who says it who looks negative.'' The only reason [the men's team] had the scheme to vote out the guy with the lowest score every week is because a couple of the more mature guys were like, ''I won't be caught dead sitting in a group like a 14-year-old with two other guys as we go, 'Well, what about that guy, he's pretty weak.'''

Are you very wary about what you say during those one-on-one interviews?
My mind was like was a machine. They would ask me a question, I would stop, phrase it in my mind, understand how that could be perceived, and begin. A director said, ''If you just free-flow, it's a lot easier, we get better stuff.'' I was like, ''Are you kidding me? If I free-flow, you f--- me! I'm gonna wait here, plan my response, tell you my sentence, and if you don't want to use it, fine.'' When Puck left the show [after smashing his room], he didn't give them an exit interview, he told them to f--- off. So they said to me in my interview, ''Don't you think it was really aggressive and violent the way Puck left?'' And I started laughing, and I said, ''Objection, your honor. Leading the witness?''

Well, for drama they can always go to people like Jisela, who got worked up about a challenge where you just had to hold your breath underwater.
I know! And she was under the water for 14 seconds! But who the hell thought that challenge up? Who said, ''We need really exciting television. I got it! We'll see if they can hold their breath!'' What kind of TV is that? And still shots of people sitting on ice? People hanging upside down? Are you serious? Who thought that up? And why were they ever hired? The sad thing is, they're making more than their talent.

And yet the bulk of the show is dedicated to these challenges, and you never even see some of the contestants.
There are so many people that even I have seen in interviews and been like, ''Oh, are they still on this?'' Like Jamie [from ''Real World: New Orleans''], who is f---ing hilarious. Seeing him on the show is my favorite part: You just see his ass with a beard in the background walking around. He had just spent 30 days in the desert by himself, where he pitched a tent for 30 days, drank water, ate oats, and meditated all day. That's some interesting s---. But why don't we find out anything about who he is now or why is he so far out?

Well, they were busy focusing on Puck.
The first day Puck got there, he went up to one of the other cast members and said, ''Hey, I'm Puck. This is my show.'' And it IS, it's Puck's show until he decides to leave. Bunim/Murray has this love/hate thing with him -- he's the only reason people are watching this show.

I loved watching Jon Murray having to adjudicate whether David could spit on Puck to keep Puck on the show. I imagined him repeating to himself in his head, ''Remember, these people made me a millionaire...''
He's a grown-ass man, negotiating a spitting deal between other grown men! At one point, you have to look yourself in the eye and go, ''I don't know what kind of life I'm leading.''

Also, Julie, a fan, wrote in saying that the E! True Hollywood Story is being done on the Real World. They are currently interviewing castmembers and it is unclear when it will air.

Melissa posted this at her site yesterday:

"Rumors are hysterical. We don’t know who started it, but… Veronica was told by Rachel that BMP was filming two challenges this year, one this summer and one in September. In the car on the way to the airport, Veronica said, “It’s so funny how rumors get started…” and told me about what she heard that night and that Elka later told her the same, but wasn’t sure about the information or the validity of the source. We laughed about it. Then, when we got to the airport, we saw Mark and totally casually, not having any idea that we just talked about the ridiculousness of the rumor, he goes, “So, did you hear about the September challenge?” Veronica and I looked at each other and started cracking up. I’m sure this phantom September challenge is a creation of somebody at a desk at BMP who has to call cast members back that they originally invited but then changed their minds about. Kinda like a consolation prize. Two challenges? No way. Or some former cast member has entirely too much BMP on the mind."

Interesting...
For those of you who are asking, the people at the reunion are Colin, Mark, Jamie, Antoine, Shane, Blair, Ruthie, Ellen, Lori, Melissa, Genesis, and Veronica. James and Emily declined to attend.

Apparently, you need AOL to see this article that EW did with Colin. Click if you got AOL!

And Lindsay (Seattle) is now appearing on CNN. (As we reported to you several weeks ago.) Check CNN for entertainment updates by the firecracker from Pier 70.

And a fan is setting up his own Battle of the Sexes for fun. Click here to see his site.

We reported on this way back when... But Adam (The Quest) and Timmy (USA - Tour 2) are on ECO Challenge this year. They join Ethan and Jenna from CBS' Survivor. Eco Challenge airs May 5 thru May 8 at 10pm EST on USA.

A Road Ruler in a commercial. Devon (USA - Tour 2) who is in several other commercials is in a Miller Lite commercial that airs during the NBA Playoffs. Thanks to Dennis for that.

And we got an email from Anna May who attended the Reunion. She definitely enjoyed the taping which lasted most of the day. Antoine and Jamie were two castmembers who got up and close and personal with the audience. While there were others who weren't so nice. Antoine even hung out with some audience members after the taping!

Battle of the Sexes is now over! It looks like not many castmembers went to the actual reunion. The flipbook at MTV.com of the reunion shows interesting, interesting things. Ellen seems to be engaged now (Do you think she'll invite Puck to the wedding?) Jamie no longer has a beard! And he has long hair. Genesis broke up with Paige, her wife, and now has a new girlfriend Beth (Not Beth S. from the show.) It looks like only 12 castmembers or so actually attended the reunion.

The Paris page at MTV.com is up, with little information!

And we hope you have a good day!

THIS IS THE NEWS OF THE YEAR: Our site has hit a million visitors! That's right... Over a million websurfers have laid their eyes on the Real World/Road Rules Blog. This number of a million actually comes from the counter being put on the site in mid-June 2002. That's right. In less than a year, over a million loyal fans have read news and information on your favorite Real World and Road Rules castmembers.

The site actually has it roots in June of 1998. Our webmasters began with the Real World/Road Rules Network which transformed into The Real World Road. Eventually, we turned into the Blog and have been dedicated to bringing you news ever since. So keep coming, because we hope to serve a million more people!
Hey, check out this fansite dedicated to Theo (Chicago).

Anyway, I'm sure that you are hearing that a new Challenge is being filmed this upcoming summer. So far, Trishelle (Las Vegas and Theo (Chicago) have been confirmed. Now, Matt (New Orleans) is supposedly joining the ranks in this year's Challenge. The new Challenge will probably air January 2004.

Saturday, May 03, 2003

Kyle (Chicago), fresh off the news that he will be the new addition to Days of Our Lives as Phillip Kirkais, will be appearing on ET on MTV next week to promote his appearance. Thanks to Julie for the news.

Apparently, Arissa, Trishelle (Las Vegas) and Katie (The Quest) will join the ranks of Beth S. (Los Angeles), Flora (Miami), Veronica (Semester At Sea), and Jisela (The Quest) as official Real World/Road Rules Playmates. The issue will be out in June, but is considered the July issue.

And yes, for everyone who has been asking for the past few months. Casting for The Real World 14 (It's unclear if Road Rules will continue on as well.) is now on. The deadline for casting tapes is May 12, so hurry up and go to BMPs Casting Site.

Also, some interesting news about Road Rules. It seems like there is going to be a crest involved (just like The Quest). However, its a different kind of crest. Anyway, the crest has some crazy design involved and each castmember has the option of getting the crest tattoo if at the end of the trip (if they make it that far.) It still functions as a "piece" and there are 12 pieces to the crest. It's sort of a Road Rules tattoo. The last cast to get Road Rules tattoos was Australia with Shayne, Chadwick, and Kefla getting the Road Rules sign and the Christina, Piggy and Susie getting their own individual tattoos.

MTV has put up the Road Rules: South Seas website...

Meet Abram, Cara, Christena, Dave, Donell, and Marybeth as they cruise through Tahiti, Fiji, and New Zealand. This is an adventure you won't forget! Go to the Road Rules website. Road Rules premieres May 26!

Thursday, May 01, 2003

The article coming from NIU's newspaper stating that Trishelle and Arissa would be appearing in the June issue is not right. Apparently, both ladies did not show up in the June issue. Read the article that said they would. Anyway, apparently they won't even show up in the July issue...

Since news broke that TVGuide came out with pictures of The Real World Paris house... It has been scanned onto the internet left and right. For the most ready source of the pictures, go to Reality World TV. The house is quaint, nice and is a 1869 house, 30 minutes outside of Paris. The house has hints of the Back to New York house.

Oh, no... Them's are fighting words. One of the twins from the Real Cancun recently did an interview with TV Guide and one of them went as far as to call Trishelle a slut... Here's the article... On further notice, they say that they will pose for Playboy if the opportunity comes along.

And what have your favorite Battle of the Sexes girls done since leaving Jamaica? Well, two Filipinos of the show, Ruthie and Melissa are appearing on Fillipino-run clothing sites. That's right. Check out Ruthie and Melissa modeling off some duds at these sites. Tsinilas Clothing and Pnoy Apparel. Thanks to Nadia for that. (Note: Lori is also half Filipino... Sorry for the mix-up.)

Mohammed and Rachel (San Francisco) will be on tonight's episode of Street Smarts. Check that out if you have the chance.

Wednesday, April 30, 2003

Know how Trishelle and Arissa are set to be in Playboy's June issue. Well, Sarah Kozer is set to be on the cover of the June issue. Most likely, Hef and company will be pulling off some reality television theme for their June issue. Check for it soon.

We've been hearing that TVGuide has pictures of the Paris house... Is this true? Has anyone else seen these pictures?

And finally... Remember, Rebecca's (Seattle) singing career... Well, it seems the days of "Innocence" and hanging out with high profile stars like Sir Mix A Lot are not over. Rebecca has joined a band with none other than Matrix star Keanu Reeves. Reeves, who has his own band, Dogstar, has recently formed a band with Paulie Kosta, Rob Mailhouse, and Rebecca named "Becky". Check out their site.

And as part of Reality TV Week on Street Smarts... Rachel and Mohammed will be appearing on the show. Check your local listings. (Thanks to Jessica for that info.)

Tuesday, April 29, 2003

Ruthie, Ellen, Lori, Mark, Jamie and Colin are the final participants of Battle of the Sexes. Congratulations!

And you can visit the new Trishelle fan club at the new fan website.

Saturday, April 26, 2003

Someone is starting an online game with Real World/Road Rules trivia and they need help. If you are interested in helping, contact Hookup1407@aol.com. To see or play the actual game go here. A new review site also sprouted up done by Doug, go here for that.

More information on the Kendal (Campus Crawl)/Nick Zano dating rumors. Kendal recently posted on her site that she recently went to a taping of her boyfriend's pilot. Well, Nick is filming a pilot called "Sweet Potato Queens" with Delta Burke. Thanks to Erin for that piece of information.

A special is being filmed in the beginning of May for VH1. The special will interview and follow several casts of the Real World and get the behind the scenes perspective of the show. Watch for that. It is uncertain when it will air.

And the Challenge is definitely being shot soon! We just got confirmation on that and more information is due to come soon.

Friday, April 25, 2003

The Real Cancun premieres in theaters today. (I don't know why they just didn't call it The Real World: Cancun) They keep advertising it as From the Producers of the Real World: The Real Cancun... Anyway, this is reality television's first venture into major motion pictures. We'll see how it does. The Quest, the other reality-TVish, spring break movie that is being produced by some other company has been put on hold. Check out The Real Cancun and look for Casey who supposedly hooked up with Trishelle while she was hosting Maxim's Spring Break Party in Cancun.

Kyle (Chicago) will start his turn as Philip Kiriakis on the soap opera Days of Our Lives on May 13. Check your local listings and support Real World alumni! Congratulations to Kyle for landing this role.

Theo (Chicago) and Trishelle (Las Vegas) were both at NIU last Tuesday giving a speaking engagement. Among the things mentioned, Theo now has a girlfriend. And Trishelle is currently single... Those rumors of her dating Andy Dick are UNTRUE. Trishelle mentioned that she and Arissa (Las Vegas) will be joining the likes of Jisela (The Quest), Veronica (Semester At Sea), Beth S (Los Angeles)., and Flora (Miami) as they will be posing in the June issue of Playboy. And finally both Trishelle and Theo say that they will be heading to another exotic locale this summer to film another Battle of the Sexes... It is unclear if they are doing another Sexes series. But they will probably change the format once again. (Good vs. Evil? Old casts vs. New Casts?) We will see. But it seems that they already selected the castmembers for the next challenge. All this in the following article NIU Northern Star. Thanks to Nan for that article... Exciting information! A Playboy issue and another Battle coming soon!

Regarding the reunion... All of the castmembers have been invited back, but it won't be all thirty-six castmembers. Word on the street is that some castmembers are passing up this reunion special for various reasons. The show is filming this Sunday in the MTV studios in New York City... But those who won't attend include one of the winners and a girl who was almost in every single inner circle.

And YES... An episode of Friends was rerun last night that had Teck in it. He played one of the interns. We reported on that when the episode originally aired.

A good site that promises to review new episodes of The Real World: Paris and Road Rules: South Seas and is currently reviewing Battle of the Sexes can be viewed here. An interesting feature of the site is that they post Melissa, Colin and Lori's reviews on the same page. Some problems with the size of the page though. Good site overall.

And Frank (Las Vegas) will be serving as a celebrity judge for UCLA's annual Spring Sing. Cara (Chicago) was last year's celebrity judge from The Real World and Frank takes over this year. The Spring Sing will be held on Friday, May 2 at UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center. For directions and ticket information, visit the Spring Sing website.
